University Pathway Programme

The University Pathway Programme is a pre-sessional course designed for international students who are planning to study for a degree at a university in the UK, Canada, or Germany and need to meet the language requirement of their conditional offer.

This programme will help you to:

  • Become acquainted with the appropriate language and study skills necessary for academic institutions
  • Develop learning strategies required for university life
  • Develop the functional skills needed for both inside and outside the classroom
  • Settle into an academic environment before starting your studies

 Our University Pathway Programme (UPP) is designed to prepare you for university life in the UK and Canada, by helping you to:

  • Improve your academic English
  • Develop academic skills such as reading effectively, academic writing, note making, listening, summarising and synthesizing texts, critical thinking, referencing, research methodology and speaking skills for lectures, presentations and seminars
  • Settle into an academic environment before starting your studies
  • Develop the skills necessary for autonomous learning
  • Assist with integration into the UK/Canada


  • Locations: Manchester
  • Levels: A1 and above
  • Duration: 8-58 weeks
  • Intake: Every Monday
  • Coming soon to London and Birmingham

The programme duration is dependent on your level. To determine your required number of weeks in the University Pathway Programme you will be required to take an assessment test, or provide evidence of you (i.e an IELTS certificate).
